About the tour...
Luang Prabang was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Lane Xang (‘million elephants’). According to legend, the first name of Luang Prabang was Muang Xieng Thong, Muang Xua , named after King Khunxua who reigned around the 8th Century. During the reign of King Fa Ngum Luang Prabang became the capital of the Kingdom of a Million Elephants. Luang Prabang is named after the famous Prabang statue, visible at the National Museum. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Lane Xang from 1345 until 1560, when it was transferred to Vientiane. Luang Prabang borders the provinces of Oudomxai, Phongsaly Huaphan to the north, Vientiane and Sayabury to the southwest and Xieng Khoung to the east. This makes Luang Prabang the centre of Northern Laos. Let enjoy a trip with us! Sabaidee Luang Prabang.
